MYTH II MULTIPLAYER AND CO-OP FIELD NOTES — 2026-09-16 These notes turn the private beginner, multiplayer, and co-op files into a short practice guide. They are practical guidance, not a promise that every map or ruleset behaves identically. BEFORE THE FIGHT - Scout routes, elevations, water crossings, and chokepoints before committing the whole force. - Decide who owns explosive units and who calls their movement in co-op. - Identify the fragile back line: archers, healers, spellcasters, and veterans. - Agree on a simple objective and a fallback point before splitting the force. DURING CONTACT - Keep melee between the threat and ranged/support units. - Avoid a single blob when the enemy has explosives or area damage. - Move Dwarves and other dangerous units with a clear lane and retreat route. - Do not compete for control of the same units in co-op; call transfers explicitly. - Pause a chase when support range, terrain, or veteran safety is lost. AFTER CONTACT - Re-form before the next objective instead of carrying scattered units forward. - Preserve healers and veterans; surviving experienced units are a resource for later fights. - Record the map route, ambush, or formation mistake that changed the engagement. - Treat a speedrun pattern as a specialized tactic, not the default beginner lesson. EVIDENCE BOUNDARY PRACTICAL / LOCAL: Consolidates C:\Myth2Bot\knowledge\gameplay\beginner_guide.md, multiplayer_basics.md, and coop_basics.md. The source files are marked draft, so this page does not promote them to documented engine behavior. Map-specific claims, balance claims, and scripted-wave timing remain UNKNOWN until dated runtime capture. NEXT TEST Capture one co-op match or disposable map test showing a formation decision, explosive-unit handoff, or ambush response. Record map/build, players, objective, observed outcome, and limits with the Runtime Journal or Collaborator Intake template.
